Day 90

Happy Easter! : : I captured many great photos today but this one is, by far, my favorite. My little girl looks just so grown up in the pic, practically standing on her own, with this expression of 'I got this.' And I absolutely adore her Easter attire. :)

Day 89

Easter Lamb : : My husband requested lamb for Easter and I was happy to oblige. But we found the lamb wasn't. It was the toughest piece of meat either of us had ever encountered.

Day 88

Asleep in Her Bed : : This is a huge accomplishment. We've been making huge progress this week with getting my daughter to sleep in her own bed during naptime. She always wants to be where I am but it is difficult because she doesn't sleep as soundly now, and I wake her if I do anything besides sit quietly in the same room.

Day 87

Altar of Repose : : Today is Holy Thursday. In anticipation for Mass tonight, we've been decorating the altar of repose with dozens of white and yellow roses. This is where the Holy Eucharist -- Christ -- will reside until Easter vigil. It is not in the church. It symbolizes the fact that He is gone, descended to the dead on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, and returns {to the church's tabernacle}, risen from the dead, on Easter!

Day 86

First Shoes : : Bought a pair of 'glass slippers' for my princess today. These are her first shoes. She's not that fond of them yet, but they will be good to have when she starts walking. 

Day 85

First Knit Hat! : : My daughter was sporting the new hat I made her today. It wasn't bad for a first-time project. She loves it! Keeps her naked head warm. :)

Day 84

The Family Bassinet : : We just packed up the bassinet my daughter's been using since she was born. It was getting to the point that her arms and legs would hit the sides whenever she would move about. This bassinet has been in my husband's family for generations. He, his mother, brother and sister, and many others in the family have used it as babies. There is a record on the bottom of all the babies who've been inside.

Dutch Bros. Coffee : : We were driving around house hunting today and needed a little pick-me-up. Stopped in at the drive-thru at Dutch Bros. I'd never tried their stuff before. I'm definitely a fan.

Grab Your Toes : : My daughter has recently discovered her toes so this is her favorite position to be in right now. 

Day 81

Monterey Bay : : I neglected to take some photos for a couple days so I thought I would share a few more from our trip. This one was taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I was trying out different levels of exposure and I settled on this one which is slightly underexposed. It brings out more detail in the water and sky.

Day 80

Cast-On for a Hat : : When I was in Carmel, we happened by a little knitting store and I decided to purchase a bit of yarn and some circular needles to begin a project for my daughter. I'm going to make her a cute little hat. This is my first experience casting on for a project. Not too shabby. ;)

Day 79

Lighthouse Field Beach Portrait : : Another that is a bit of a cheat, but I like to have a few with my daughter. My husband took this on our last day of vacation as we stopped in Santa Cruz. We tried to go to the Boardwalk but it was shut down that day, so we settled for surfer watching at the beach. 

Day 78

Jellies! : : The Monterey Bay Aquarium has a fantastic display of jellyfish that my daughter absolutely adored. The tanks on the ceiling were her favorite as she was lying in her stroller, but she was just as happy in daddy's arms looking into their tanks.

Sitting Up : : We stopped into a cafe in Carmel while we were out wandering around for a little refresher. My daughter has been working on her ability to sit so she was very happy doing just that in daddy's lap. She was giving big smiles to all the people who came and went in the shop.

Rockin' the Socks : : I don't get enough self-portraits in here so thought I would sneak one in today. ;) Took this as we're headed down to Carmel for a much-needed vacation. Just so happens to be St. Patrick's Day, so have to dress the part.

Teeth! : : I was working on my daughter's 4-month photos today and managed to capture her two teeth that have come in on the bottom. They're mighty sharp!

Baby Photo Gallery : : I'm finally getting around to creating a special place for my daughter in her room. She absolutely loves to look at the photos on our walls so I decided to make her a collection of her own in her room.

Spring Walk : : I recently got my daughter a sun hat and an umbrella stroller for our walks. We went for our first ride in the stroller today and she was absolutely in love! It made her so happy to see what was going on.

Day 72

Habemus Papam! : : A new pope was elected today! We took out our papal flag and flew it from our balcony as we anxiously awaited the announcement of his name. It is Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio from Argentina. He chose the name Pope Francis after St. Francis of Assisi who is pictured next to the flag. Odd coincidence....?

Day 71

Pink Puppy Love : : My daughter loves this pink puppy. They spend a lot of time together. (I don't blame her; he's so soft.) Today, they just happened to be matching. :)

Like Father, Like Daughter : : These two were having a good time together on the couch this morning when I captured this. Too cute.

Day 69

Old Sugar Mill : : This is one of our favorite places to visit -- and the place where we got married. :) The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg had a special event, Tempranillo and Tapas, going on today. We enjoyed a plate of delicious paella and many delightful wines on a glorious Sunday afternoon.

Lil' Catcher : : My nephew had his first pony baseball game today. He got to play catcher for the last inning. This kid has some serious 'game face.'

Easter Tulips : : My dear friend, Catherine, came for a visit today and brought me these gorgeous tulips. They are a perfect addition to our dining table. (Can't wait for Easter!)

Day 66

Cool Dudette! : : This was actually taken on Saturday (3/9) as we were preparing to leave for my nephew's baseball game. (I'm behind and I forgot to take a photo today.) My daughter was totally digging her new sunglasses. This also highlights another one of her latest fascinations -- grabbing at her toes. She especially favors her left foot. :)

Day 65

The Cardinals invited all the faithful to a universal call to prayer with the intention of the upcoming papal election for a new pope. We joined them from afar, praying along with them on TV.

Day 64

Self Portrait with My Daughter : : We played together on the ground shortly after getting out of bed this morning. She always has tons of energy upon first rising and is very happy. I always take advantage and enjoy this time with her.

Day 63

First Park Day : : We took our daughter to the park today as my husband had the day off and it was just glorious weather. She LOVED watching the other kids on the playground. I think she was pining to join them.

M&M Oatmeal : : This is what happens when you allow your husband to pick his own toppings for his oatmeal. ;-)

Smokin' Volcano : : We celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday tonight at Benihana Grill. They make your food on a grill right at your table with great fanfare and flair. Our chef was creating a smoking volcano out of a stack of onion in this photo.

Day 60

Roll-Over Success : : My daughter made her first tried-and-true roll over today from back to front. I was working on dinner and when I turned around, there she was on her stomach after I had laid her on her back. Now, it's all she wants to do.
