Napping at the Park : : It seems Mommy's lap on a picnic blanket at the park is better place to nap these days than her own bed. 

Day 119

Benromach : : We're somewhat of whisky connoisseurs so we were doing a little research on our latest acquisition. This is from a special batch made for BevMo (only about 350 bottled) from a distillery in Speyside.

Future Musician : : This isn't the greatest quality photo but I love it nonetheless. My daughter was fascinated watching my husband play his mandolin today. We're taking bets on what instrument she will play. :)

Vows : : This photo was taken today at my friend's wedding. She was a roommate of mine for a couple years. They were wed at our glorious cathedral downtown. Congratulations and here's to many years!

Avocado Chocolate Chip Cookies : : I decided to be bold today and try out this recipe for chocolate chip cookies with avocado. You can obviously see the avocado in them, but the flavor is very muted. The flavor is tweaked slightly from regular ones but it is very subtle.

Miss Independent : : My daughter is growing up way too fast! I took these 5 month portraits today (a tad late) and she was very proud to sit in the chair by herself.

Homemade Wedding Gift : : I finished my friend's apron today for her wedding on Saturday. I think it turned out rather cute!! :)

I Love This Man : : Cheating a little bit today, using a photo from yesterday, but I love this photo of my husband and I. A rare occurrence.

First Time Swinging : : My daughter had her first experience swinging today. She was very happy to kick back and enjoy the experience.

Bridal Shower Details : : I had a wonderful time at a friend's bridal shower today. They had these lovely details at each of the tables. Especially love the combination of flowers and filler with those cute mason jar vases.

Cutting Out : : Finally getting started on my first sewing project with my new machine. I was cutting out the fabric today for an apron which will be a wedding gift for a friend of mine.

Yogurt Yum : : So far, this is my daughter's favorite food. She likes equally to eat and paint with it. ;)

Day 108

Picnic at the Park : : As the weather warms, we're spending more of our days doing this: picnicking at the park. My daughter loves to be outside, enjoying the fresh air and watching everyone running around.

Balance : : This girl has strong stomach muscles. She is able to pull herself to a sitting position all the way from lying flat on the floor. She balances herself like this often too. 

Day 106

Asleep On The Job : : While I was working at the computer today, my daughter was playing on the bed behind me. I noticed it got super quiet and I turned around to find her like this. Poor, tired girl. ;)

Day 105

Root Beer Shots : : My husband gave my brother a large collection of root beers for Christmas which he saved for all of us to do a tasting. We only made it through half tonight, as we didn't want to waste anything. That, accompanied by a viewing of Batman : A Dark Knight Rises, was a perfect night in.

Chevy's Brunch : : Chevy's Mexican Restaurant has always been a common family gathering place for us. It was our place-of-choice after the breakfast place we tried was too small to accomodate us. {Problem of large families.}

Day 103

Grandma's Waffles : : I made a large batch of these in honor of my grandmother whom we laid to rest and said our final goodbyes to today. They were something she always made for us when we spent the night at her house.

Ranunculus : : After seeing a picture of these on someone's blog the other day, I couldn't resist picking myself up a bunch at Trader Joe's today. They're such playful little flowers.

Day 101

Chartreuse and Tonic : : I think this may be the drink of the summer in our household. An alternative to a gin and tonic, the Chartreuse has a light green, iridescent glow to it. Perfect for lighting up the night.

Day 100

Pure Joy and Excitement : : She LOVES sitting in a big girl high chair and eating bananas, especially while we are eating our meals. It makes her day. :)

Day 99

First Taste of Bananas! : : We finally broke down and decided to go for it. We gave our little girl her first taste of solids tonight -- bananas! She was delighted!

Day 98

Jelly Moose : : This is one of my husband's favorite toys as a child. He named him 'Jelly Moose' after jelly, of course, one of his favorite foods. My daughter took a liking to him as well. :) (My eldest brother actually had this same moose himself and loved it best.)

Jammin' : : After our Sunday evening supper together, my brothers pulled out their instruments to jam. They hadn't done it in a while. It's always fun to watch and listen.

Day 96

Mayan Mocha : : Tried the new Mayan mocha at Peet's Coffee today on a little date night with my husband. It supposedly has pepper added to it to give it a little kick, but what I noticed (and appreciated) was the DARK chocolate!

From Where I Stand : : My daughter is getting better every day at sitting on her own. She sat playing on this old Toy Story sheet that belonged to one of my brother's when he was a child for a while today while I worked on something at my parents' house.

Day 94

Sewing Machine : : I received this wonderful machine for Christmas but had yet to find a time to test it out. I'm still having some trouble getting the bobbin to work just right, but I'm excited for some upcoming projects I have planned.

Day 93

Hair Bow : : Haven't been able to get many bows in my daughter's hair because it is still too short, but this cute headband fits her perfectly. :)

Day 92

Homemade Carrot Cake : : Today was my dad's birthday. I made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting from scratch for him. All the family got together after he got off work to celebrate at my parents' house. The cake was gone in a matter of minutes, which was a big deal considering my family doesn't usually like cake.

Day 91

Auburn Ale House : : My husband and I snuck away for a quick lunch date while my mother-in-law kept an eye on our little one. This was at the restaurant where we both enjoyed fish 'n chips and a cold glass of their housemade IPA.
